Hi, I’m Jonathan.
Thanks for visiting hesswork. Now that you’ve seen a few of my projects, here’s a bit about me.
Raised in Virginia, I landed in San Francisco after college—drawn by the city’s skate culture and amazing weather. Today, I lead U.S. partner retail for Google devices and services, working across digital and physical retail as Google continues to expand its product lineup and market presence.
Before Google, I created internal communications and content for Apple’s retail store employees, learning how to maintain deep connection with thousands of team members through strategic storytelling. Prior to that, I spent several years building and evolving the Old Navy brand—leading global brand experience across seasonal campaigns, stores, and international expansion. It was design boot camp for retail, shaping how I think about scale, storytelling, and brand evolution.
Early in my career, I worked with top agencies on projects for clients including Levi’s, Gap, Disney, and Nestlé—experience that taught me the discipline of brand work across advertising and consumer packaging.
I thrive on tackling complex design challenges, building strong teams, and working collaboratively across all levels of an organization. I balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, believing the best solutions come from open communication and diverse perspectives.
When I’m offline, you’ll find me with my kids, in the garden, coaching youth soccer, exploring Marin trails, or cooking with friends and family.
If you’re interested in building thoughtful, effective things together, let’s make it happen.
